What is their job? To fight for the freedom of a man who is accused of having ties to the notorious MS-13 gang, a worldwide criminal group known for its extreme violence, drug dealing, and suffering of people.

Garcia is thought to be a member of MS-13. He has also been linked to domestic violence and may have been involved with selling people. These Democrats in Congress didn’t care about the safety of American citizens or even the people who said Garcia abused them. They picked to back a man who most people think is dangerous instead.

El Salvador’s government quickly turned down their request, leaving the congressmembers to walk aimlessly and record shaky social media posts that seemed more like desperate TikTok rants than serious diplomatic efforts. It was both sad and enlightening to see how today’s progressive political class acts—more interested in ideological theater than in protecting the country, following the law, or being decent.

Why Should You Defend Someone Suspected of Being in a Gang?

A big question remains: Why would members of Congress who are already in office go to another country to support someone with such a bad track record? The Democrats have tried to spin this strange trip as a defense of the Constitution by saying that Kilmar Garcia’s detention is against the law and that they are just following what they say is a 9-0 Supreme Court ruling that says he has to be sent back.

But here’s the thing: leaders who now cry foul about following the Constitution are often the first to ignore, bend, or openly break it when it doesn’t fit their story. The modern Democratic Party has often treated the Constitution like a bother instead of a holy text, from calls to pack the Supreme Court to attacks on the Second Amendment and clear violations of due process during political investigations.

Is it a publicity stunt or political theater?

It was a carefully planned political stunt meant to get a lot of attention and make voters on the far left happy who are obsessed with victim stories and anti-border activity. It was an attempt to get attention from the media and look morally righteous on TV, even if it meant defending something that couldn’t be defended.

The fact that this stunt was done in a different country makes it even more disgusting. Not only did these politicians hurt the U.S. justice system, they also hurt the sovereignty of another country. El Salvador has been fighting MS-13 for years with unprecedented success under President Nayib Bukele. However, American leftists basically told the country that it had to free a suspect gang member because of ideological pressure.

And it’s good that Salvadoran leaders said no.

Democrats and How Kind They Are to Criminals

This is not a one-time thing. For years, the Democratic Party has shown an odd tendency to put thieves ahead of victims. They want rules to change about bail that put violent criminals back on the streets. They say that police officers are tyrants while supporting people who steal and cause trouble. President Bukele, who never misses a chance, made fun of the tweet in public, which was fair.

Frost didn’t take responsibility, so he made more snarky comments and told people to find more “embarrassing” tweets. His arrogance and lack of morals in his answer show a bigger problem in our culture: left-wing leaders today think they are above consequences, scrutiny, and morality.

TikTok, the site of choice for pointless comments and fake activism, may have been the source of the most upsetting event in this whole story. Hop Walz, the daughter of former Vice President Tim Walz, made a video in which she said that MS-13 gang members were like Jesus Christ. Her reasoning? That Jesus would have been removed under Trump’s immigration policies, which makes the gang member a holy martyr.

This is the kind of crazy talk that describes the progressive movement right now. Not only is it mentally lazy, but it’s also morally wrong. It is the worst thing in the world to compare a man who taught peace, compassion, and sacrifice to someone who enforces MS-13. Still, it caught on with people on the left who are determined to protect their open-border beliefs at all costs.

A ban on media coverage of victims

Where are the stories about Garcia’s claimed victims in the news? Why doesn’t CNN or MSNBC do something about the women who are sold, beaten, or used by MS-13? Why is it more common to support someone who is thought to be a member of a gang than to talk about the lives that have been destroyed by the gang’s terror?

This shows how biased the mass media is toward certain ideas. They don’t want to tell the truth or protect those who are weak. They care about hits, stories, and getting their point across.
